Summer 2008

Wychwood Lechlade Trout Fishery:

Lechlade is re opening, after a three week break for maintenance, on Saturday 23rd August. Very cool weather and an enormous amount of rain has thrust the water into Autumn mode and fishing should improve dramatically. There are some very big "over summered" Brown Trout to stalk and we have a huge amount of large, fit rainbows on the farm to stock. Howard "H" Leatherdale, one of our resident instructors, gave it a go today and caught on buzzers and Daddy Longlegs. Small Montanas and fry imitations will also work well. We look forward to seeing you back.

Bushyleaze Trout Fishery:

Bushyleaze is crystal clear and fishing very well with plenty of surface activity and regular hatches of sedges, olives and Damsels. Buzzers and PTN's are very effective, along with Daddy Longlegs and very small dry flies. Resident brown trout are well on the feed with fish captured up to 12 pounds. Average size of rainbows is close to 4 pounds with a lot of bigger "resident" fish coming out.

Little Faringdon Pike Lake:

For some inexplicable "Planning Issue" we will not be able to offer fishing on this lake this winter. If circumstances change they will be posted on this website and sent out to those on the newsletter mailing list.

Other News:

We are now selling Hardy, Greys and Fishpond tackle in the shop as well as the full range of Wychwood Tackle. You wont find this range cheaper anywhere else. The new Wychwood range of Game Tackle is in stock and it is fantastic, see their new website on our "Useful Links" page.

Visit our Notice Board page to see a fantastic chance to purchase a really spectacular fly tying kit.
